Workshops in Worthing!

We will be running some workhops based on old Sussex Folklore including the
Knucker Dragon and the Midsummer Oak tree at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery
during August. The activities we will be covering are: shadow puppets, mobiles, masks
and 3D paper dioramas.

They should be a lot of fun, we hope some of you can make it!

P.S. These will be our first ever workshops so we are equally nervous and excited!

Return to sender...

I recently entered the 'Worthing Tourist Board Design a Postcard Competition'
after only finding out about it the evening before the competition deadline!

I managed to come up with the design below in under a couple of hours. I didn't win which was a little disappointing but I am still pretty pleased with how the design turned out.
There's nothing like a retro looking Sun to cheer you up!

The winning entry by Erica Sturla was really good though and it will now be printed up into a bona fide postcard for sale in the Worthing Tourist Information Centre.

Trying to Make a Public exhibition of myself

Adur District Council ran a public sculpture competition last year. They were looking for sculptures that would fit in with the local area and reflect its geographical location and history. These are my entries below.

Adur is an area on the south coast of england which was originally a fishing hamlet and also has a history of smuggling.

I didn't make the finalist shortlist and from the feedback I received I think they thought they were a little too large for such a small town. Looking at the designs now I have mixed feelings, whilst on the whole I am still pretty pleased with them and would love to have seen them made 'real'. But maybe they are a little too 'cartoonish' and I might have overdone the whole nautical theme a bit?!
